Nimbus

Project Nimbus is a multi-year, wide-ranging flagship project for the provision of cloud services, led by the Government Procurement Administration of the Finance Ministry together with the Government ICT Authority, the National Cyber System, the Defense Ministry and the IDF.

The project is designed to provide a comprehensive framework and an in-depth perspective on the total life cycle of providing public cloud services to the government.

The layers of the project range from to the creation of the channel for the provision of the cloud services in practice, to the formulation of government policy on the subject, migration to the cloud and modernization of services, control and optimization of the activity in the cloud, provision of third party services on the platforms of the selected providers and more.

The project comprises several layers, among them layer 3, which allows government ministries and supporting units to contract with infrastructure providers and migrate a wide variety of activities to the cloud.
